The effect of the experimental chronic hyperglycemia on the kidney and myocardium

Abstract. The number of patients with diabetes increases annually. Modern forecasts predict that will be the seventh leading cause death in 2030. Despite many significant advances research and use new modern treatments, disease is still progressing, it necessary to continue study effects on human systems organs: kidney myocardium.
 Methods. A total 24 rats reproductive age (6 months old) were involved this experimental study. Experimental injected alloxan intraperitoneally once at a dose 20 mg/100 g an empty stomach. In addition, they received 10% glucose solution hours after injection 5% during experiment. We measured level Accu-Chek Advantage (Boehringer, Germany) 2, 12, injection, then weekly. subjects investigation heart (n=12) control animals for correct comparative analysis.
 Results. average blood remained 11 mmol/L ± 2 mmol/L. During period, rats' weight gain, dilation both ventricles relative renal gain determined. By histological examination myocardium, we revealed polymorphic nuclei, perinuclear cytolysis, fragmentation, wavy-like deformation cardiomyocytes, stromal perivascular edema, uneven filling vessels, local fibrosis. Thinning fibrous capsule cortical layer, destruction nephrons, hemorrhages detected kidney.
 Conclusions. Our confirms robustness alloxan-induced hyperglycemia rats. came conclusion because early changes kidneys are explained by development microangiopathies, which typical feature pathogenesis diabetes. With prolonged exposure chronic hyperglycemia, structural disorders vital organs worsened. This model could used conducting comprehensive aimed mechanisms mellitus, tissues, complications.
